Memorial Park, October 17-19 1008
Last Camping trip of the season. Chris, Amelie, Quincy, Mo, Tsan and Dan did the overnight camping and hiking Friday and Saturday; Axel, Farrah, Paami and Jake came over for Saturday lunch, beach and dinner. Much fun and wine was had, steaks were cooked, and s'mores were made. Time to reserve sites for 2009.

Barton Springs Pool, Austin
Daddy swam here when he was about seven. He remembered the water being cold. 37 years later, the water is still cold. But not as cold as it was in the 1970's. Another victim of global warming. Mo got off easy.
Cheese
95 degrees out? Take a dip in the cool Barton Springs Pool in Zilker Park. $1 for children. What's not to smile about?
Uncle Kip
Mo couldn't have been happier hanging out with Uncle Kip. The only thing better, would have been to hang out with Reed, too. But Reed was having his first date at ACL and Mo just didn't measure up against Lauren, a Texan teenage hottie. So Mo made due with Taasha, Samir, and Kip, and Mo's new favorite babysitter, James and James' mother Rebecca.
How much for the chair?
Moses was oblivious to how jealous 65,000 festivarians were of his shaded seating. Indeed, we were offered lots of money for our chairs. But we opted for our child's comfort over some quick, cold cash. This time.
Enjoying the festival life
It was sunny. It was hot. But Moses was prepared for Austin City Limits Music Festival at Zilker Park. Chair, shade, fluids, food, and personal feeder. What's not to like?
Mmmm. Soul Food Brunch.
Hoover's Restaurant, 2002 Manor Road, Austin. Moses was impressed with the quality and size of his sides. We would have let him try the chicken fried chicken, but it got devoured too quickly by the adults.

Chihuly Gets Momo's Evil Eye
First, of all, some housekeeping: Momo does not wish to be referred to as "Momo" any longer. While he has agreed to grant his mother immunity for slight transgressions in exchange for her testimony to the world that this is now the case, generally speaking, he shall now be referred to as Moses.
We went with the Martin clan to see the Chihuly exhibit. Momo, er, Noses, enjoyed the exhibit immensely and remarked at the end, "that was breathtaking." In the middle of the exhibit, he said, "I'm an artist, too." Yes, Momo, yes you are.

Carter's First Slice of Pizza - Ever
B/c we made the dough and topping with ingredients that Carter wasn't allergic to, he was able to join his brothers in eating real pizza for the first time.
Campfire Pizza
We made 5 terrific pizzas on the campfire for the boys and the adults. Will repeat in the future and experiment with dough recipes.
